HOW I GOT HERE

I was taught to shrink before I ever learned to trust myself and for years, I couldn't tell the two apart.

I don't really know when I started doubting myself. I just know I got good at hiding it, good enough that I built an entire career helping other people through change while never once looking at my own. A Millennial Mind started with a lunch at the Savoy I almost didn't go to, with an aunt I barely knew who turned out to be everything I didn't know I wanted to be: direct, confident, unapologetic about her work. Months later I shadowed her in New York, expecting a proper studio and instead watched a bestselling author record in a windowless room with one microphone and a producer. That was the moment it stopped feeling out of reach. I spent the next year brainstorming on 20-minute walks to work, at a job I already knew I'd outgrown. The name came to me on a run. Then I sat on the first recordings for weeks, convinced they weren't good enough, until a guy I was dating told me I never follow through on anything. I launched the next day. It hit number 10 in the charts before the day was out.
